brain-breathing-part-2

Every one knows about the importance of breathing correctly, despite that, in fact, none of us pays much attention to the process which allows us, literally, to stay alive :-). To breath in a conscious way, following any of the techniques or methods that exist for whatever type of practice you may do (yoga, tai chi, meditation, etc) is one of the keys to achieve good results in it.

But breathing not only provide us with oxygen, it also fills the body with “prana”, which is, so to speak, the vital energy that maintains our energetic systems and bodies working properly. A few deep inspirations, made consciously, are good as to calm nervousness before a public speech, as they are to place us in a calm and relaxed state after a hard day at work. Breathing deep, filling our lungs till their maximum, and then exhaling as much air as we can, several times, cleans our lungs of dirty energy that never comes out in the normal, superficial, breathing mode we normally use.

Breathing and visualization

Giving more power to our breathing is as easy as imagining that the air that comes into our body is going to accomplish one function or another. We can imagine (=visualize), that when are inhaling fresh and clean air, it travels all along our body removing all used energy and blockades, which then come out of our body when we exhale. You can imagine , for instance, that the air is redirected to a specific place where you may feel pain, where you may feel something uncomfortable, where there is an emotional hurt needed to be healed. The only condition is to provide an “order” to the air, to execute the action you want it to accomplish (calm the pain, remove blockades, etc).

Using colours to breath

Colours are powerful therapeutic tools. In fact, they are so powerful that there are several techniques using them to cure any kind of problem, due to the influence they have in our bodies and energetic systems. Everyone knows about the qualities of red (strong, aggressive, dominant), or green (relaxing, quiet, etc). Using this properties, mixing them with our concious breathing, provides results in a much more efficient way and, of course, much faster.

For instance, if you feel emotionally charged, with your head about to explode, feeling like carrying a strong weight over your shoulders, if you have had a terrible day, use this simply exercise to make you feel better. Breath deep, and imaging that the air inhaled takes a green colour, hold that air for a few seconds and send it down to all corners of your body, from head to feet. Imagine the air while coming down, pressing all the energy it encounters, down to the Earth, and leaving you under your feet, getting out of your body. The “green” air is like a broom, which will clean all that charge in your head.  Do that a few times and you will indeed feel much better shortly.

On the contrary, if you need to charge yourself, to get quickly an extra portion of energy, breath in and imagine the air “red”. Fill your body with this red air, feel its energy and strength, and distribute the whole of it through your body. You will feel stronger and extra-charged, ready to do that extra effort, thanks to the powerful energy of the red colour.

Whenever you want to calm some pain, to help your body recover, to accelerate the self-healing tools our body has, use the violet colour. Fill yourself with violet air, send it mentally to that part of your body that needs help, and tell the air to “heal” that area. The energy which is within the violet air will accelerate and empower the already self-healing properties of your body, and will help to become healthier faster.

And the same method with the rest of colours. You can easily find out the properties of each of them searching in Google, and combine them with breathing techniques you may know or practice, to obtain a physical, mental and emotional balance we all need to be in harmony.

In fact, the most important thing is to feel OK in every moment, right? Let’s give breathing the value it deserves and we will see spectacular results coming soon in return.
