Once upon a time, a light particle who was living among many other light particles decided that she wanted to know herself better. As she was in the middle of light, it was not possible, in any way, to perceive fully everything she was, because everything around her was essentially the same as her.  But, as our particle had a strong self-development feeling and desire, reached out to the source of the universe that had created her and asked for a way to experience herself, to be light, and to know what meant to be light. The universe, to fulfil her wish, could only do one thing: create the  deepest and blackest darkness and send there the particle, alone, in the middle of that terrible emptiness, so she could experiment being a light particle. This is the way, people say, the Law of Opposites was born. :-)

A dual Universe

Nothing can exist without its contrary, because nothing can know itself if there isn’t the opposite concept to make it known. You can not understand love if you do not know hate, you can not understand freedom if you do not know dependency, you can not live in abundance if there wasn’t for the lack of resources.

Everything has a contrary in this world so we are able to live it in its fully expression, and, although we may not like to acknowledge it, without the opposite concept, which many times we see as something negative, we could never fully experience that we really want and desire.

Cold can not exist without heat, white without black. If we want to live in a place where the temperature is warm, there must be a place somewhere where it is always cold, to make it possible. Even if it is just a tiny spot on the planet, but the opposite concept of that what we wish, has to exist in our reality so we can experiment it.

The Law of Opposites and the Law of Attraction

If you wish to create something, its opposite has to be created also. And if you see that, when you wish something with all your passion, and the first thing you see manifesting in your life is the opposite one, instead of claiming that the process is not working, be happy and congratulate yourself because, precisely, the process is working at full speed!

Unfortunately, here it is when many people who follow blindly any LoA method starts complaining about the lack of results, and stops using them.
When you want to manifest abundance in your life, and suddenly you see your bank account diminish due to a sudden payment that needs to be done, or you want to manifest more freedom, and suddenly more compromises comes your way, you are on the right track. The effect of creating the opposite of that we wished is working and will pass eventually, leaving us enjoying the final desire we had, fully manifested in our lives. This is because the universe had to create first the contrary of your wish, in order for you to be able to have that wish.

What you resist, persist

Every time you want to experience something with all your being, and you are going through the opposite experience, just leave it, let it pass. It is part of the process. Do not put effort and time to resist and fight whatever comes your way. Accept it as a part of the universal process of creation.

If something that annoys you appears in your life, but it is related exactly to that you are trying to manifest, just on the opposite pole, do not resist it. The energy of that event, situation or fact will disappear, leaving just your desire.

If you focus too much on the opposite, you are giving it power, your are giving it an attention it does not need or deserve, and you are putting obstacles in the process of manifestation. So you know, what you resist, persist, so let it pass and it will soon vanish.

A Global meaning for the Law of Opposites

I’ve never dared to say that in order for some people to live in abundance, some other people need to live in misery. It really feels so out of place and difficult to accept that it can not be true that in order for some to live happily, others need to be unhappy, or for something to exist somewhere, it does not have to exist somewhere else, specially when we are talking about basic needs of we, human beings.

So far I had not found an answer to this, until I have read some comments from Neale Donald Walsch (author of Conversations with God), when I have understood that this does not need to be the case.

On a personal level, in each one reality, the creation of something requires the creation of the opposite, but this does not have any more meaning that the little impact and benefits that brings to the person manifesting that wish.

On a planetary level, this is not exactly true. For the whole manking to live in abundance, you need the lack of abundance somewhere, but not necessarily as something physical and material in our reality, but as a concept. The universe does not work with tables and chairs, but with energy, with representations and abstractions of our wishes and desires.  If the colective conciousness of the planet, together, would decide to be happy, to live in harmony, to enjoy abundance, the opposite concepts of unhappiness, lack of resources, etc, wouldn’t need a physical representation here on Earth, but only need to exist as a concept in another dimission or reality.

So, what does this mean? It means that in order to some people to live greatly, there is no need for others to live poorly, and that If I manage to create a wonderful life thanks to my thoughts and actions, everyone can do the same. Is that true? What would think about it the victims of the famines in Africa or the people living in countries under a war? This is more than we can cover in this post, so will talk about it on the next one. Would you agree?
