A (Pseudo) Scientific Explanation of the Law of Attraction

I imagine there is hardly anyone today who has not heard of the Law of Attraction and everything that has been built around it. With the release of films such as The Secret and What the Bleep Do We Know, a huge number of books, articles, and self-help programs began to appear, all trying to explain what the Law of Attraction is and how we can use it to bring into our lives everything we desire. It is not that the concept did not exist before, but rather that it was not as widely known.

Without entering into beliefs, each person tends to accept or reject ideas based on what resonates with their inner values, and we must decide for ourselves what is valid within our own reality. With that mindset, and drawing from an engineer’s perspective, I will attempt to provide a partially technical explanation of how the Law of Attraction works, according to my current understanding.

Basic Premises

The Law of Attraction is based on the fundamental idea that everything in the universe is energy, existing in different states and vibrating at specific frequencies. This aligns with one of the core principles of quantum physics. A rock, a flower, or a planet like Saturn are all made of the same fundamental energy, although expressed in different forms and densities.

In the same way that our physical body is energy, our thoughts and emotions also emit energy at particular frequencies. The more focused and intense a thought or feeling is, the more powerful and direct the energetic “signal” it generates.

The second premise is that “like attracts like”, meaning that similar energies tend to come together. What you are, what you feel, and what you hold internally is ultimately what you attract into your life.

The third premise is that the universe can be understood as an immense field of energy, almost like an infinite substance that can be shaped. This implies that there is an unlimited source of potential that our directed thoughts can influence and mold.

The Attraction Process

From the moment we desire something until it appears in our life, the energetic impulse goes through different phases. Understanding these phases helps us identify where we are in the manifestation process.

The time it takes for something to materialize depends on many factors, one of the most important being your level of alignment and readiness to receive what you desire. We only attract things when we are truly prepared for them, and this can delay the arrival of a desired relationship, financial success, or any other goal.

Another key factor is the intensity and consistency with which we hold our desire. It is not the same to focus your mental “laser” continuously on shaping reality as it is to think about your goal once a week and complain that it has not yet arrived.

The “Alpha Impulse”

The “Alpha impulse” (let’s call it that way) refers to the initial thought or intention we project when we desire something. It is a concentrated burst of energy, like a laser beam, carrying the image of what we want to attract.

Just like light, this impulse can vary in strength. A weak, doubtful desire produces only a faint signal, while a strong, consistent, and confident intention creates a powerful and direct energetic projection toward the universal field.

The “Beta Reflection”

Once a desire has been generated, consciously or unconsciously, the universe responds with what can be called a Beta reflection. This is essentially an acknowledgment that the request has been received.

This response is usually subtle and almost instantaneous, which is why many people fail to notice it. For example, you may wish for more money and suddenly find a forgotten banknote in your pocket, or overhear a conversation that gives you a clue related to your goal.

The “Beta reflection” never fails, but not everyone is aware enough to recognize it.

The Phase of Calm (and Progress)

After receiving this “confirmation,” it is essential to maintain focus and keep the mental “laser” active, allowing the energy you project to continue shaping your desired outcome.

The most effective way to sustain this process is through feeling. Feeling is more powerful than thinking because it carries a stronger energetic charge. If you want something, you must feel as if you already have it.

For example, if you want a new car, it is far more effective to imagine and emotionally experience driving it, feeling the seats, the movement, the sensation of being behind the wheel. Your imagination, combined with intention, does the rest.

This is the stage where most people give up. They lose consistency, and their energetic signal weakens and dissolves. The key is to remain emotionally aligned with the outcome, using visualization, affirmations, or daily focus.

Materialization and Change of State

Even if we are not aware of it, our desire begins to take shape from the moment the “Beta reflection” occurs. At first, it exists as pure energy and must pass through different stages to adapt to the level required for physical manifestation.

This process involves gradual condensation and alignment of frequencies, where both the desire and the individual adjust to each other until they resonate at the same level.

During this phase, opportunities, signs, and pathways begin to appear, guiding you toward your goal. These are not random; they are part of the process. Recognizing and acting on them is essential, because opportunities that are ignored may take time to reappear.

Final Materialization

At some point, often unexpectedly, you will realize that what you once desired is now part of your reality. This can be especially noticeable when reviewing goals set months or years earlier, only to discover that they have already been achieved.

In essence, the Law of Attraction is a powerful tool for creating what we want, but it is not a magic wand that produces instant results. It requires consistency, clarity, confidence, and patience.

Once you understand and apply the process, its effectiveness becomes increasingly evident, and like any skill, the more you practice it, the faster and more precise the results tend to become.
