Today I feel inspired, and I’ve spent the last two days drinking long coffees and talking about astral travel, Gateway Voyage techniques and Bruce Moen’s books, so it seems I have plenty of topics to think about and things to meditate on.
Anyway, yesterday, in one of those conversations, the topic of concentration problems and conscious creation came up again. They told me about the difference between “contemplating” and “creating”. When I wait for a job to fall into my lap, I am contemplating; when I actively visualise the job I want, how I feel in it, etc., I am creating.
The way I understand how things work is as follows:
Based on our freedom of choice and thought, we have the power to create the situations we want to be part of our lives. Every thought sent out into the ‘universe’ (the non-physical planes and higher dimensions) with enough energy becomes a desire picked up by ‘up there’ that is set in motion to make it happen. If we change our minds halfway through, many of the things that were already set to happen will be cancelled or will happen in a different way, and our original desire will simply not happen because we have changed our minds and the processes, octaves and energies set in motion will be cancelled.
Let me explain with an example. Annoyed by always having people around in the office (my area is quite busy), I wanted to move (mentally) to another quieter place where I could do my things (such as writing this blog without people watching what I was doing). I mentally wished for a change of location, and that wish became an energy picked up by the “universe” (we will change the name of this later, but for now let’s call it that) which began to prepare the necessary changes: for example, a problem with the air conditioning units that required a move, an excuse for me to ask for a change of desk, a reorganisation of the team, anything that would have physically achieved that result could have been set in motion.
Days later, after spending a day without anyone bothering me, I decided that it wasn’t so bad and that I didn’t need to change… ahhhh! – they said ‘up there’ – we had started planning the actions that would have to take place so that you could change, and now you’re cancelling it! In other words, I haven’t moved from my place, and if I want to do so, I’d better decide and maintain my desire.
What I mean by all this is that what you desire is what ends up materialising in your life if you truly hold on to your desire. Our everyday problem is that we do not know that we are capable of creating our own lives, and that is why we change what we want so often. We live in a “contemplative” rather than a “creative” attitude.
What happens when we want to create something that we cannot have, is not the right time for, or are not ready for? The time it takes for that desire or need to become a reality will be proportional to how easy/difficult it is and how ready/unready one is. Let’s say that right now I want to be an astronaut with all my heart. What will the universe do to make me an astronaut? It will probably put a newspaper advertisement about the space race in front of my eyes, books on the subject will ‘accidentally’ fall into my hands, I will meet people who will talk to me about it, I will sign up for courses, I will throw myself into the space race, the right teachers and opportunities will appear, and perhaps in 10 years I will be able to make my first space trip. Well, my wish has come true because during these ten years I have maintained my intention and made it easy for the universe to put the open doors I had to walk through in front of me. But it has taken me ten years to realise my wish. Nothing would have happened if, after a month and a half, I had said, ‘Now I want to be a firefighter.’ Another cry up there for work done in vain…
The hard part comes now. How do you know what you really want? How do you know where to focus your energy to make your true desires come true? That’s where the guide comes in, that’s where spiritual guides and our Higher Self assist us. They can see beyond the day-to-day and are able to see the possible outcomes of each of your decisions (remember, we have freedom of choice) and guide you. What I learned yesterday is that your guide can suggest what you can/should create at this point in your life, what is most beneficial for you and your evolution.
Speaking of evolution, if you do not believe in reincarnation and that in this life we come to learn a set of lessons that we have previously chosen, then none of this makes much sense. We are born with a goal to fulfil that is pre-established by ourselves, our Higher Self and our soul before we are born. We come into this world with an ideal scenario to fulfil, for example, learning what love is (a task that is not specific but can be very difficult to accomplish). Thus, we choose a life and an environment that can help us, in this life, to learn what love is. Whether we decide to go to the cinema to see film A or film B is not predestined, nor is our decision not to learn anything about love; it is all purely our own decision. While in the first case there are no consequences (perhaps we miss out on a message about love, but it will surely be presented to us on another occasion), giving up on the mission we have set for ourselves is like wasting an entire lifetime incarnated in a body with which we will experience nothing.
The consequences will be felt on an unconscious level in this life; we will be depressed without knowing why, we may feel that we should do something or that we are acting in the wrong direction, etc. Going against what one feels has negative repercussions far beyond the day-to-day. That is why the most repeated message I have had since I started on this path is: follow your heart, search within yourself, only that will make your life perfect. Everything else will be taken care of by the universe when you need it.
